GERD and Oral Health

by Natalie (SU)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a condition of the digestive system where the acid in the stomach enters the esophagus repeatedly. When the muscle between the esophagus and stomach opens or doesn’t close tightly, acid can come up the esophagus and even enter the mouth. Not only can this be quite uncomfortable, it can cause damage to your teeth.
