Comfortable Dentistry for Kids
Dr. Marion’s team loves to involve the little ones in their parent’s routine professional cleanings. Bring your kids and let them see how mom and dad get their teeth cleaned. Show them how easy and fun the visit can be! Children take on the emotions of their parents, so if you are excited about your oral health, they will be too!
We recommend bringing your kids to a parent’s dental cleaning when they’re around 2 years old to get familiar with being at the dentist. They can sit in the big chair and take a ride up and down. Our team can show them some of our fun friends like “Mr. Thirsty” and our “squirt gun.” They can play in our kid’s room filled with games, tv, iPad, stuffed animals, and books. When your children are about 2.5 – 3 years old, they are ready to see one of our experienced hygienists for professional teeth cleaning. Getting a cleaning and exam every 6 months helps your child establish healthy teeth habits from an early age and hopefully prevent possible issues later in life.
Preventative Children’s Dental Health
When you bring your child to a pediatric dentist for routine dental cleanings and checkups, you are setting your child up for success! At Marion Smile Center, we help teach your children the importance of caring for their teeth. We can use a chewable tablet that reveals areas of their mouth that they may be missing with their toothbrush and teach better brushing techniques.

To help prevent tooth decay, we recommend fluoride treatments to protect tooth enamel and put minerals back into teeth. When your child’s adult molars first break through the gums, we recommend dental sealants.
