In October, Dr. Mark Marion and seven (7) others from his team at Marion Smile Center went to Memphis, Tennessee to ‘Do Good’. They volunteered their time and dental expertise one weekend to help those in need at a RAM (Remote Area Medical)dental clinic at the Legacy of Legends. They saw tens of patients many of whom had not been able to afford dental treatment or cleanings for over 10 years.
Since 1985 when RAM was founded, over 183,000 volunteers (professional practitioners and support staff) have beenable to provideFREEDental, Medical, and Vision Care to over 900,000 patients providing over$181.5 million in services!
For over 35 years, RAM has organized pop-up clinics all around the United States to provide free healthcare services to over 900,000 people. These free clinics provide health services to underserved and uninsured individuals that can not afford quality services to maintain good health. Dr. Marion and his team were able to provide the dental patients they treated with professional cleanings, x-rays, fillings, and extractions. Along with Dr. Marion, others from Marion Smile Center who provided dental treatment at the RAM dental clinic were: Dr. Morgan Zwickel, Dr. Joseph Zwickel, Katie RDH, Elizabeth, Kayla EFDA, and Kelsey EFDA. For some people, this is the only way they can get access to proper oral healthcare.
Marion Smile Center was able to joinvolunteers from the following states: Tennessee, Kentucky, New York, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Alabama, and Ohio. They had such a great time joining forces with other specialties to share their time and talent with the Memphis community! RAM Charity Clinics have not only dentists, but optometrists, and medical doctors as well. Patients are triage to see what their greatest need is. Once that is determined, then patients are treated by the various specialties to help these people receive the healthcare they desperately need.
