Smiles for Life (SFL) Foundation announced today that they have raised over $50,000,000 ($50 million) so far for charity. To date, 256,000 patients have whitened their teeth and 100% of the proceeds were donated to charity.450 of the country’s most successful and charitable dental offices are participating in the 2024 Whiten for Charity campaign.
Dr. Mark A. Marion and the team of Marion Smile Center have been honored on January 26th at the annual Crown Council Conference in Austin, TX for reaching the milestone of raising over $100,000 for charity. 1/2 of the $100,000 was given to local Zelienople – Harmony organizations such as the Fire Department, Food Bank, Historical Society, Library, Park, and Pool. The other $50,000 was donated to the Smiles for Life Foundation that helps provide dentistry for those in need around the world.
In 2024, the Smiles For Life organization is sending participating SFL dentists from the prestigious Crown Council Dental organization to under developed countries on three (3) separate trips. The well-trained American dentists provide theirs and team members’ time for free. What makes this program more impactful is that the American Dentists also train the providers at that clinic. The thinking is to teach the local dental providers more and better dental procedures versus just providing dental services for the locals during their limited time at that dental clinic.
Since 2007, the SFL Foundation has conducted almost 60 Humanitarian Expeditions to dental clinics in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. These expeditions last between 7 to 10 days 3 times per year: March, September, and November. These trips provide the best in dental care to the very poorest of the poor.
This year, as in each of the prior 8 years, the annual Whiten for Charity campaign at Marion Smile Center takes place March 1st through June 30th.
